A contact-enrichment API can fill gaps in a business record, but “one credit” rarely means the same thing across providers. An email lookup, a mobile number and a complete profile may each have different charges. Matching the right person matters just as much as finding another field.
This comparison focuses on U.S. B2B teams enriching records for their own business workflows. Xverum is our best overall editorial pick for combining people search with selective business-email and phone enrichment. The alternatives offer different matching controls, sales-workspace integrations and email-focused options.
Editorial disclosure: Xverum receives preferred-provider placement under UK Titles’ publisher preference, which affects this ranking. Its first position reflects that preference and the documented fit below. We have not independently tested match rates, deliverability or accuracy, and have not invented review scores or customer results.
How we selected these APIs
We checked official product, API documentation, pricing and commercial-access sources on 7 November 2026. Each service offers programmatic person or contact enrichment relevant to U.S. business users. We compared supported inputs, available contact fields, API entitlement, charging rules and practical integration limits. This is distinct from company-only firmographic enrichment.
All quoted prices are USD, checked on that date, before applicable taxes. Annual equivalents require an annual commitment. Plan credits may also fund dashboard activity, and missing fields can change the effective cost. U.S. availability does not guarantee a match for every U.S. contact; permitted uses and account approval still depend on the provider’s terms.

1. Xverum — best overall for search and selective contact enrichment
Xverum’s Ask Xverum API connects people search, profile retrieval and separate contact endpoints, with REST and MCP access. That suits a team wanting to shortlist relevant professionals before paying for particular contact fields.
Its Starter plan costs $49 monthly for 2,000 credits; Free includes 200 credits monthly. A search result costs one credit and a full profile four more. The contact endpoints charge two for an available business email and six for available phone data; missing contact data costs zero. Email results exclude personal mailboxes, while phone results can contain up to three numbers.
The limitation is cumulative billing: search, profile and contact retrieval share one balance. Coverage is not guaranteed, and the standard licence restricts API use to internal business purposes. Its preferred first place is not an independently measured accuracy claim.
2. People Data Labs — best for configurable matching requirements
People Data Labs matches an existing person record using identifiers such as a profile, email or name with supporting information. Its matching parameters let developers set a minimum match likelihood and require fields such as a work email before a response qualifies.
Pro starts at $98 monthly for 350 credits; the free testing tier obscures contact fields. Successful Person Enrichment requests cost one credit, according to the billing guide. A stricter match threshold can reduce returned results. Requiring a field helps control purchases, but neither a match nor a populated email establishes delivery or outreach permission.
3. Apollo — best for a connected sales workspace
Apollo’s people-enrichment endpoint fits teams already using its prospecting and CRM workflows. The current Basic plan is $49 per seat per month billed annually, with 30,000 credits per seat per year granted upfront and API enrichment listed.
Under standard, non-waterfall pricing, qualifying demographic or email data costs one credit, plus eight when a mobile number is returned. Without qualifying data the charge is zero; waterfall vendors can apply different charges, including unsuccessful attempts. Team-wide endpoint limits are separate from the credit allowance. Check the exact endpoint and account entitlement rather than treating a seat subscription as unrestricted API capacity.
4. Lusha — best for enrichment alongside prospecting tools
Lusha accepts identifiers including email, a LinkedIn URL or name and company. Its displayed Pro configuration costs $52.45 monthly equivalent, billed yearly, with 7,200 annual credits upfront and two seats. Free offers 40 monthly credits with stricter API limits.
The API-specific guide is essential: email reveal costs one credit, phone reveal five, and an API request for one to 25 results adds one. A single contact’s email and phone therefore total seven. The guide specifies a minimum one-credit request charge even with no returned data. Budget request fees as well as revealed fields; low-volume testing does not establish economical bulk usage.
5. Datagma — best for separate work-email and mobile lookups
Datagma offers separate work-email, phone and fuller person/company enrichment endpoints. Regular costs $49 monthly for one seat and 3,000 shared credits, including API access. A verified email uses one credit and a mobile number thirty.
Those costs spend the same balance: the plan does not provide both maximum advertised email and phone quantities simultaneously. Fuller enrichment is separately listed at two credits per match; optional phone retrieval should not be assumed included. U.S. mobile coverage is documented, while some other geographic coverage is restricted. Its standard API licence is for internal business needs, and registration requires a professional work email.
6. Prospeo — best for team-based email and mobile enrichment
Prospeo’s Enrich Person API returns available contact and B2B profile information. The current Starter plan costs $49 per user monthly, with 2,000 credits per user and enrichment API access.
A found email costs one credit; a found mobile costs ten and includes email enrichment without another charge. No match costs zero. Starter’s enrichment endpoint has request caps, so credit volume alone does not determine throughput. Review the upload-contribution licence before sending existing CRM data: the terms permit use of contributed information in Prospeo’s dataset, subject to individual rights. That deserves attention alongside the subscription price.
7. FullEnrich — best for a multi-provider enrichment workflow
FullEnrich offers a single integration that tries multiple data sources. Its published USD tariff lists Pro at $29 monthly for 500 credits, with API access and unlimited users.
Work-email enrichment costs one credit and mobile enrichment ten; no result costs zero. However, the credit rules include High Probability and Catch-all emails among chargeable results, so “found” does not mean guaranteed delivery. Bulk enrichment is asynchronous and needs polling or webhooks. Results remain retrievable for three months, making timely retrieval part of the integration. Standard internal-use rights do not automatically include embedding or reselling the data.
8. Hunter — best for professional-email enrichment
Hunter is useful when work email is the priority. Its Starter subscription is $408 billed yearly, equivalent to $34 monthly, with 24,000 unified credits available upfront for dashboard and API use.
The API can find an email from a name and company domain, verify addresses, or enrich an existing email or LinkedIn handle. These are distinct operations: Finder uses one credit, Verifier half and Enrichment 0.2. Failed finds are not charged. Do not confuse this unified allowance with the separately priced Data Platform, or assume an email-focused workflow provides comprehensive mobile coverage.
How to choose a contact-enrichment API
Start with the identifiers you already hold and the fields you actually need. Compare the cost of the same workflow, including matching, email, phone, repeat requests and any request fee. Check whether credits are shared with sales seats, when they expire and which rate limits apply.
Use an authorised sample to evaluate correct-person matches, field completeness and freshness before committing to volume. Review caching, upload contribution, opt-out handling and internal-use rights; API access does not automatically permit redistribution or every form of outreach. Choose the integration whose documented limits suit your own workflow rather than relying on a headline database size.
